Work experience

• Since 2011 full-time translator/linguist focusing on certified translations and medical/devices, regulatory, contract and general business translations.TEP for the life sciences and related industries. Extensive experience with the following: 
• Medical/pharmaceutical documents: regulatory affairs documentation for EMA, CTAs, summary of product characteristics (SPC), patient information leaflet (PIL), product labelling, product inserts, clinical trial agreements, study protocols, scientific publications, patient documents, marketing material, surveys, screeners, training documents, questionnaires, device descriptions, IFU, operator manual, SOP, safety data sheet, company documents, intra- and internet communication;
• Business and contract translations: commercial correspondence, business communication and presentations, product descriptions, user manuals, safety data sheet, catalogues, flyers, IT-related material, customer support material, intranet and internet communication, customer brochures, training documents, marketing and HR material, registration with the trade register, license agreement, corporate agreement, sale and purchase agreements, GTC, general legal translations etc.
• Since 1996 working as freelance translator and language trainer; translation services for business, pharma/healthcare and related industries; part-time language instruction - German as foreign language and English, including 5 years as e-tutor of management training courses + 1 year online tutor at UMUC.
• Freelance senior medical language trainer at the UdS Medical School: teaching medical English for 20 years + 3 years at a special training institution for radiographers and medical technicians;
• In-house linguistic staff at the UdS University hospital and Medical School for 6 years: responsible for translating, editing a variety of documents and medical/ surgical subjects, such as scientific publications, conference publications, patient information, patient charts, case files, all typical correspondence as well as regulatory affairs documentation and TEP of institutional magazines.
• University teaching and research assistant in linguistics for 3 years: responsible for designing, writing and editing teaching/information material about the use and application of new media tools for students and staff of the Philosophische Fakultät, official project reports, and own publications.
• Editorial assistant: writing, translating and proofreading at a public health institution (Gesundheitszentrale Mainz e.V.) for 2 years and intern at 2 different pharmaceutical companies in France and Germany.
